Hadımköy Women Cultural Center is a project that is thought by the Arnavutköy Municipality in Istanbul.
In this context, an urban design project is prepared with taking into consideration of Hadımköy's needs and its architectural history. Existing registered station buildings that are close to the area have functioned as museum and in order to achieve integration between cultural center and station buildings proposed ‘Transition Park’. City square is rearranged and commercial functions are added. With the proposed City Park and Festival Area, pedestrian and vehicular circulations are solved and Women Cultural Center’s physical - social connections and its relationship with the surroundings are made strong.
In the design of the Women Cultural Center is created functional and with courtyard structure by the helping of simple but strong geometric forms. In this structure, urban integrity and intertwined with the nature has been gave special attention. In order to create warm sense, used different directions of bricks in facade, with the unusual window proportions, pure and innovative structure has been designed.
